Premier League: AXA (insurance) obtains naming rights to Liverpool FC's new training centre

The French insurance company AXA has extended its partnership with Liverpool FC (Premier League) and obtained the naming rights to the club's future training centre, the "AXA Training Centre", announced the English club on 26/10/2020.

The new (9,200 m2) sports complex located in Kirkby - in the north-east of Liverpool, where the club's current training centre is already established - should open "in mid-to-late November (2020)," according to Liverpool FC. The construction of the training centre is reported to have cost £50m (€55m) according to the British media.

"The Reds will move to the facility after bidding a fond farewell to Melwood, which has been the club's training ground for 70 years, beginning a new chapter in the club's illustrious history that will see the first team and youth football operations come together at a combined training facility for the first time," explained the 2019-20 Premier League champions.
