FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) received a building permit for its World Football Museum in Zurich on 23/05/2014. The municipal authorities have approved the project and, as the site has already been cleared of its previous structure, the building can begin.

The museum of 4,650m² spread over four floors will include a multimedia exhibition on the impact of football in the world. It also detail the history of FIFA and the World Cup. Many collections of trophies, shirts and posters will be displayed. The upper floors of the museum will host offices (136 workstations) and 34 apartments.

The opening of the museum is scheduled for early 2016, FIFA said. The communications agency Triad, based in Berlin, has been tasked with organising and arranging the museum.
