"I am more than worried (to see Mediapro not paying what it owes to the LFP for the TV rights to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2). We are hanging by a thread for the economy of the clubs and of the FFF because part of the TV rights finance amateur football. The Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, the main domestic broadcaster of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT since the start of the 2020-21 season, had to pay the LFP its second installment in an amount estimated at around €145m on 05/10/2020. The group requested by mail to the French Professional Football League on 24/09/2020 a payment delay, refused by the league. Mediapro has placed itself under an ad hoc mandate with the Nanterre Commercial Court (Hauts-de-Seine, Greater Paris) and a conciliation procedure is currently underway between the two entities.
