MLB 2020 World Series: lower TV audiences recorded in the USA (9.79 million viewers, -30% vs 2019)

An average of 9.79 million viewers watched the six games of the 2020 World Series, Los Angeles Dodgers - Tampa Bay Rays (LA won 4 games to 2), played in front of 11,500 spectators per game at the neutral site Globe Life Field in Arlington (Texas, USA), home of Texas Rangers (MLB), on the American private, free-TV channel Fox, from 10 to 27/10/2020.

The first five games of the series recorded the five worst TV ratings for World Series games, and the average audience over the six games is down 30% from those in 2019 which had 13.91 million TV viewers on average (Washington Nationals - Houston Astros, 4-3), according to the sportsmediawatch website (see below).

The final game of the 2020 World Series hit a peak of 14.35 million viewers with an average of 12.62 million viewers and a 15% audience share. Including Spanish-language coverage on Fox Deportes and streaming platforms, this sixth game was watched on average by 13.21 million viewers, Fox indicated. In comparison, the last game of the 2019 World Series was watched by 23.2 million viewers with an audience share of 25%.
