Brazil: Ligue 1 to be broadcast for free via the OneFootball platform until the end of the season

OneFootball has become the exclusive broadcasting partner of the LFP in Brazil and will broadcast at least six Ligue 1 Uber Eats games (out of ten) per matchday as well as highlights of all matches live on its application free of charge from the weekend of 31/10/2020 until the end of the 2020-21 season, announced the German football media platform on 30/10/2020.

These rights were acquired from the Qatari group beIN Media Group (holder of the international broadcasting rights to Ligue 1 for a minimum amount of €80m per season over the 2018-2024 cycle) and via the French agency SPORTFIVE.

Ligue 1 had not been broadcast in Brazil since the start of the 2020-21 season following the termination of the contract by the OTT platform DAZN, which has waived several rights in recent months in this market where it launched in March 2019. DAZN was previously paying €5m per season for the Ligue 1 rights in Brazil, initially acquired for the 2018-2021 season, and had sub-licensed the rights to one game per matchday to the pay and free TV group Band for the 2019-20 season.
