Swiss Court: "The verdict is a total vindication" (Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, beIN Media Group)

"After a relentless four-year campaign against me that ignored the basic facts and the law at every turn - I have finally, fully and completely cleared my name. Today's verdict is a total vindication," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (QAT), president of beIN Media Group, absent ("due to the quarantine obligation imposed by Qatar on all travellers returning from Switzerland") at the time of the judgment handed down by the Criminal Chamber of the Swiss Federal Criminal Court in Bellinzona (Ticino, SUI) on 30/10/2020.

"It restores my faith in the rule of law and in due process, after four years of baseless allegations, fictitious charges and constant smears of my reputation - all of which have been proven to be completely and wholly unsubstantiated," continued Al-Khelaïfi, also president of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats).

The Federal Criminal Court acquitted Nasser Al-Khelaïfi in the proceedings against him for granting the Qatari group beIN the TV rights to the 2026 and 2030 Football World Cups.
