The 25^th MLS season began on 29/02/2020. The League has two additional franchises in 2020: Inter Miami CF (owned by Englishman David Beckham) and Nashville SC. In 2021, Austin and Charlotte will join MLS, while Saint Louis and Sacramento Republic FC will add to the number of franchises in 2022.

The North American league suspended its championship, after only two matchdays, following the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on 12/03/2020. The 2020 MLS season resumed with the MLS is Back Tournament with 26 teams, held at the ESPN Wide World Of Sports at the Walt Disney World Resort entertainment park in Orlando (Florida, USA), from 08/07 to 11/08/2020.

Major League Soccer resumed on 12/08/2020 and the play-offs will begin on 20/11/2020.
