Chelsea FC: first Premier League club to partner with the Chinese social network Weibo

Weibo, a Chinese social network belonging to the Sina Sports group, has become a partner of Chelsea FC (Premier League) for the Chinese market from 2020-21, announced the London club on 10/11/2020.

"As part of the partnership, we will utilise the Weibo platform to deliver new and exclusive original content for Blues fans in China. As an innovative, digital-first club, Chelsea will provide unique content on a daily basis to our millions of fans in China," explained the club which operates "Chelsea FC China TV", a channel dedicated to the Chinese market (see below).

"Last season (2019-20), we were the fastest-growing European football club on Weibo in China," added the club. Chelsea FC has eight million followers on its Weibo page (as of 10/11/2020), the fourth most popular European club, behind Manchester United FC (10.2 million followers), Manchester City FC (8.9 million) and FC Barcelona (8.1 million).
