Supersport International has extended its rights to broadcast the Premier League in sub-Saharan Africa (including South Africa) in its entirety (380 matches per season) and exclusively (all media and languages) for the 2022-2025 cycle, announced the South African pay-TV group on 10/11/2020.

Holder of the broadcasting rights since the creation of the Premier League in 1992, Supersport pays an estimated £168m (€188m) per season over the current cycle (2019-2022). This contract is the largest international contract for the Premier League over the 2019-2022 cycle following the termination of its contract in China with PPTV (€197m per season) on 03/09/2020.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the second market where the Premier League markets its broadcasting rights for the post-2022 period after Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark), where the rights have been allocated for six seasons (2022-2028) to the free and pay-TV group Nent Group for a record £2bn (€2.38bn), or £333m (€393m) per season, according to British media on 06/02/2020.
