Poland: Nent acquires 2021-2025 rights to the Bundesliga and to launch OTT platform in August 2021

The Scandinavian free and pay-TV Nent Group has acquired the exclusive TV rights, for Poland, to the Bundesliga, the 2.Bundesliga and the DFL Super cup over the 2021-2025 period, from Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of the DFL, on 10/11/2020.

This is the first acquisition of sports TV rights from Nent in the Polish market, where the group will launch its Viaplay streaming platform in August 2021.

The broadcasting rights in Poland for the Bundesliga are currently held (2017-2021 cycle) by the British audiovisual group Eleven, which sublicensed some of the matches to NC+, the Polish subsidiary of the French Groupe Canal+.

"Today, 25% of Poland's 13.8 million households have a subscription to a streaming service, and this number is expected to rise to well over 40% by 2025, with the current average of 1.5 subscriptions per household set to increase as well," said Nent Group.
