Spain: "Spanish football would need €490m to cover for the clubs' expenses" (J. Tebas, LaLiga)

"In order to finish the season, Spanish football would need some €490m to be able to cover for the clubs' expenses. But it's not happening to everyone. We've looked at 17 clubs; some need €100m and others €3m; but maybe the ones with €3m are worse (off) than the others. We're working on looking at how to regulate them," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga on 14/11/2020, during the "Marca Sport Weekend 2020", a video-conference event organised by the Spanish sports daily Marca from 13 to 15/11/2020.

"If we'd planned to invest 45% from ticketing revenue and it's not going to be like that, then clubs are spending €500m in excess," explained the president of the Spanish League.

When asked if he could imagine a 2021-22 Spanish championship without Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid CF) or Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), Tebas answered: "I don't want a LaLiga without Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos.
