CAF: four challengers face current president Ahmad Ahmad (MAD) for the elections on 12/03/2021

Augustin Senghor (SEN), president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), is a candidate for the presidency of the African Football Confederation (CAF), announced the Senegalese press agency APS and confirmed the person concerned on 13/11/2020.

The election is scheduled in Rabat (MAR) on 12/03/2021. The deadline for submitting applications, set by CAF's statutes at four months before the balloting, therefore fell on Thursday 12/11/2020.

"After reflection and consultation, I decided to stand (for reelection). CAF has changed a lot over the past four years. I am proud of the work accomplished by my team. That they should be thanked, as well as the supporters of football in Africa and beyond," said the current president, Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), via Twitter on 28/10/2020. He would benefit from the support of 46 of the 54 national federations affiliated to CAF.

Three other candidates which declared themselves a few days before the deadline:
