Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton (GBR) equals Michael Schumacher (GER) with 7^th World Championship title

Lewis Hamilton (GBR) has been crowned Formula One World Champion for the seventh time in his career (2008, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) following his victory at the 2020 Turkish Grand Prix, the 14^th (out of 17) F1 Championship race on organised by Formula One Group on 15/11/2020. The British driver has been racing with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport team since the 2013 season.

Lewis Hamilton thus becomes the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1, equal to Germany's Michael Schumacher (1994, 1995 and 2000-2004 World Champion). Hamilton also holds the record for the number of pole positions (97) and Grand Prix victories (94).

The British driver has a total of 31.19 million followers on social networks (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), the most among the F1 drivers (as of 16/11/2020). This number of fans has increased by 34.4% since Hamilton's last title (23.2 million followers on 04/11/2019, an increase of 33.3% between 2018 and 2019).
