Bundesliga: Bayern Munich, 1^st sports club in the world to reach 5 billion views on Giphy (platform)

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) has become the first sports club in the world to surpass five billion views on Giphy (a platform for GIFs, a digital moving image format), announced the club on 13/11/2020. The Bavarian club launched its account on the social network on 08/11/2016.

"FCB's position at the top of the Giphy standings is no coincidence. Using GIFs (Graphics Interchange Format) has been regular feature of the club’s content strategy since 2016 and is a vital mouthpiece in online communication. With now over 4,300 produced and published FC Bayern GIFs, it underlines the importance of Giphy as a key part of the digital interaction with fans," said the club.

"Whether in community management, as a content element or situational sticker, the animations allow storytelling and brand development in its most effective form for the German record champions. GIFs allow posts to display emotion in a simple way. They help to reach out to the community on a personal level, create an approachable brand image and strengthen the bond between fans and club," added Bayern.
