Liverpool FC: inauguration of the "AXA Training Centre"

Liverpool FC (Premier League) has inaugurated the "AXA Training Centre", its new training centre "722 days since construction began," announced the club on 17/11/2020. The new facility, for which the French insurer AXA has held the naming rights since 26/10/2020, is reported to have cost £50m (€55m) according to British media.

Designed by the American architectural firm KSS and with a total surface area of 9,200sqm, the AXA Training Centre will now accommodate the first team and the U23 team in Kirkby, north-east of Liverpool, where the training centre was established. It includes three 11-a-side training pitches, goalkeeper and warm-up areas, indoor areas - including two gymnasiums, an indoor 11-a-side pitch and a swimming pool - TV studios and offices.
