United States: national team players display messages for social justice before match versus Wales

The players of the USA men's team each displayed a different message for "social justice" on their warm-up jackets before the kick-off of the friendly versus Wales (0-0) at the Liberty Stadium (Swansea, WAL) on 12/11/2020.

"During the walkout and anthem in advance of the match against Wales today, the US men's national team players took advantage of the moment to send and spread a meaningful message. With the goal of inspiring action on social justice issues, all of the players had 'Be the Change' adorned on the front of their anthem jackets. The spirit of their message is that each and every person has the ability, opportunity and responsibility to make a difference in our own way," said the US Soccer Federation.

"On the back of the jacket, each player had the opportunity to include a personalised message representing something meaningful to them (see below)," added US Soccer.
