Manchester City: collaboration with FaZe Clan for a challenge on the video game Minecraft

Manchester City FC (Premier League) is collaborating with FaZe Clan, an American esports, gaming lifestyle and entertainment organisation, and has launched the "Parkour Challenge", a new game mode on Minecraft (a video game published by Mojang) in a digitised Etihad Stadium within the game itself, announced the club on 17/11/2020.

"The new game mode allows players of all ages and skill levels to take on a timed obstacle course through the Etihad Stadium (54,219 capacity), with the opportunity to compete in a weekly challenge every weekend up until Friday 06/12/2020. Following each weekly competition, all players’ course times will be placed onto a leader board, with the leader from each week winning a piece of FaZe Clan merchandise," explained the club.

Manchester City entered into an "innovative partnership" with FaZe Clan on 26/09/2019 in order to "create new experiences for fans of both football and esports, and to bring the two audiences together in exciting new ways," said the club. Manchester City has three esport teams (in Europe, China and South Korea) as of 23/11/2020.
