CAF: Ahmad Ahmad banned from "all football-related activity" for 5 years by FIFA Ethics Committee

Ahmad Ahmad (MAD), president of CAF since 16/03/2017 and vice-president of FIFA, is banned "from all football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level for five years. In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 200,000 (€185,000) has been imposed," announced the adjudicatory chamber of FIFA's independent Ethics Committee, on 23/11/2020, which specified that the sanction would be effective from the same date.

According to adjudicatory chamber Ahmad Ahmad has been found guilty of violating "articles 15 (Duty of loyalty), 20 (Offering and accepting gifts or other benefits) and 25 (Abuse of position) of the 2020 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics (document available to download), as well as article 28 (Misappropriation of funds) of the 2018 edition."
