esports: AS Roma to hold a tournament in China on Supercell's "Brawl Stars" video game

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) is organising a national tournament in China on Brawl Stars, a mobile video game from the Finnish video game publisher Supercell, announced the club on 21/11/2020. "Brawl Stars is played by 350 million users worldwide and boasts over 70 million active users in China alone," said the club.

"The collaboration marks AS Roma's initial expansion into the esports world in Asia and will mainly focus on a domestic tournament in China called the 'Brawl Stars Top Club Football Cup'. The team representing the Giallorossi will go up against top clubs from around the world, including Manchester City FC (Premier League), VfL Wolfsburg (Bundesliga), Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), Celtic FC (Scottish Premiership) and Guangzhou R&F (CSL)," explained AS Roma.

"The mobile gaming competition has two phases. Fans located in China can choose the club they wish to represent, then compete with other teams in the 3v3 mode in order to become one of the 12 squads to qualify for the offline final event," said the club.
