esports: Riot Games launches a seasonal competition schedule for 2021 on its game Valorant

Riot Games has launched the Valorant Champions Tour, its new programme of esports competitions to be held in 2021 on its video game Valorant (a team shooting game), announced the American publisher on 24/11/2020.

"Today we are taking our next step to grow Valorant into the next great, multi-generational esport with the reveal of the Valorant Champions Tour. Next year, aspiring pro players from all over the world will have the opportunity to build their stardom through a brand new series that will feature both regional and international competitions," said Riot Games.

The 2021 season will begin in January with regional tournaments known as the "Valorant Challengers", then three "Valorant Masters" events before ending in December with the "Valorant Champions" event, the equivalent of the Worlds on LoL (see details below).

Red Bull (energy drinks) and Secretlab (gaming chairs) are the "founding partners" of the first edition of the Valorant Champions Tour.
