Bundesliga International: private equity firms to consider investing in DFL subsidiary (press)

The private equity firms Advent International (American) and BC Partners (British) are considering acquiring a minority stake in Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of the DFL in charge of the commercial rights (broadcasting, sponsorship, marketing, digital) of the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga internationally, according to Bloomberg, an American media company specialised in finance, on 25/11/2020.

No offer has been made for the moment and the DFL management is expected to discuss the opportunity on 07/12/2020. The American funds Bain Capital, KKR & Co, General Atlantic and the Luxembourg fund CVC Capital Partners could also be interested according to Bloomberg.

In Italt, Lega Serie A general assembly recently approved an offer by a consortium comprised of CVC Capital Partners, Advent International and the Italian public fund FSI (Fondo Strategico Italiano) to acquire a 10% stake in the Italian League's future media company with a capital stake of €1.7bn on 19/11/2020.
