Brazil 2014: CNN and Facebook launch interactive platform CNN Facebook Pulse

An interactive platform dedicated to the 2014 World Cup, "CNN Facebook Pulse", was launched by news channel CNN International and the social network Facebook on CNN's website on 27/05/2014. This platform compiles real-time posts and photos posted on Facebook and Instagram (a social network for sharing photos and videos that was acquired by Facebook) that relate to the 20th World Cup (Brazil, from 12/06 to 13/07/2014).

This platform allows its users to discuss topics concerning the World Cup, to monitor the number of mentions for the competition hour-to-hour, and to see rankings of most-mentioned teams and players on Facebook.

During the World Cup, CNN Facebook Pulse will aggregate discussions between fans, teams and players and provide selected facts from the platform on CNN programs devoted to the 2014 World Cup and on the CNN website dedicated supporters, the Fanzone.
