LaLiga Santander: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (December 2020)

The 20 clubs in the 2020-21 LaLiga Santander championship have more than 525 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/12/2020. This total makes the Spanish first division the second most popular European Top 5 league on the three social networks combined, behind the Premier League, with an average of 26.3 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular Spanish club with nearly 240 million fans, while FC Barcelona, second, with a total of 229 million, are ahead of Club Atlético de Madrid in third place with 29 million.

FC Barcelona posted the best growth in absolute value across the three social networks with an additional 981,673 followers in total, including 61% on Instagram alone. However, Real Madrid posted the best growth in absolute value on Instagram among the clubs of the European Top 5 during the month of November 2020 (+691,895 followers).

In terms of percentage growth, promoted side Cádiz CF posted the best growth among the clubs of the Spanish championship on Facebook (+3.9%) and Twitter (+1.3%)…
