Serie A: Parma FC make 178 transfers in single year

Parma FC (Serie A) made 178 transfers from 01/07/2013 to 01/06/2014, reported Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian sports newspaper, on 01/06/2014. These transfers were part of the Parmesan club's plan to partner with other clubs abroad or in lower divisions in order to lend them Parma's players.

27 players were thus loaned by Parma FC during the 2014 winter transfer window (from 03 to 31/01/2014). Over the same period, the club had 35 recalls from loans. A total of 226 players are under contract with Parma FC, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Tommaso Ghirardi, president of Parma FC, announced an intention to sell his shares following the disqualification of Parma FC from the 2014-15 Europa League on 30/05/2014.
