esports: Red Bull, official partner of the South Korean organisation T1 and their star player Faker

Red Bull, an energy drinks brand, is to become a partner of the esports organisation T1 Entertainment & Sports (formerly SK Telecom T1) from 2020, as part of a multi-year agreement, announced the Austrian company on 02/12/2020.

This agreement covers all T1 teams. Red Bull is now displayed on the players' shirt pockets. T1's League of Legends (published by Riot Games) team plays in the LCK, the South Korean regional championship, and has among its ranks Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, one of the most illustrious players in the discipline. T1 has won the Worlds (world championship on LoL) a record three times.

Red Bull is thus strengthening its position in the sport. The energy drinks brand is a partner of several organisations (G2 Esports, Cloud9, Vodafone Giants, etc.) as well as competitions such as the Worlds and the LEC (organised by Riot Games in Europe). Red Bull has fully embraced esports/gaming since the brand also organises its own competitions (on LoL and Counter-Strike) and is partner of streamers such as Tyler "Ninja" Blevins (USA) and Corentin "Gotaga" Houssein (FRA).
