Mediapro: a closure of the Téléfoot channel in France discussed internally to employees

The management of the Téléfoot channel (Mediapro group) told its journalists that the French pay channel could close in the short term, reported the French sports daily L'Équipe on 08/12/2020. The other option mentioned by management would be to maintain the channel with the loss of certain lots, potentially including Lot 1 (Sunday evening match, typically first choice).

This speech by the Téléfoot management would have followed in particular exchanges between journalists of the channel and Ligue 1 club presidents. The latter would have indicated to journalists that they would no longer cover Ligue 1 (on behalf of Mediapro) soon, perhaps even as soon as the Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique Lyonnais fixture (Sunday 13/12/2020, kick-off at 21:00 CET).
