Ligue 1 TV rights: end of the conciliation between the LFP and Mediapro on 18/12/2020 (press)

The management of the Téléfoot channel (Mediapro group) told its journalists that the French pay channel could close in the short term, reported the French sports daily L'Équipe on 08/12/2020. The other option mentioned by management would be to maintain the channel with the loss of certain lots, potentially including Lot 1 (Sunday evening match, typically first choice).

Marc Sénéchal, the conciliator appointed by the Commercial Court of Nanterre (Greater Paris, FRA), would have indicated to the board of directors of the League that either the LFP accepts the conditions of Mediapro (abandonment of the contract against the guarantee of not being sued), or the broadcaster will go bankrupt (Mediapro France entity). The first solution would be favored by the conciliator and Vincent Labrune, president of the LFP, who would however like to obtain financial compensation from Mediapro. A new LFP board of directors meeting could take place on Friday 11/12/2020 to make a final decision, according to L'Équipe.
