Ligue 1: Paris SG to open its first South American football school in Rio de Janeiro on 09/06/2014

Paris SG (Ligue 1) will open a football school in Rio de Janeiro (BRA) on 09/06/2014 -- it's first in South America --Frédéric Longuépée, deputy director general of Paris SG in charge of business activity, announced in Rio de Janeiro on 02/06/2014.

The school, dubbed Paris Saint-Germain Academy de Rio de Janeiro, will use the five-a-side football infrastructure in Botafogo (So 5) launched five years ago by three French people and will serve children from 5 to 16 years old. They will be able to participate in five-day workshops during school holidays and weekly training sessions during the school year.

"We have had 28 Brazilian players; 29 with David Luiz. Brazil is in our genes and part of our heritage. In a sign our appeal, we had 500,000 followers on our Facebook page three years ago, and now we have 11m, including 1.5m Brazilians -- as many followers as we have from France," said Longuépée on 02/06/2014.
