France: Mediapro announces of the shutdown of Téléfoot to employees of the channel (press)

Julien Bergeaud, managing director of Mediapro Sport France, announced to Téléfoot employees that an agreement had been reached with the French Professional Football League (LFP) and that the channel was going to stop operations, without giving precise dates yet, according to the French sports daily L'Équipe, which specifies that a LFP board of directors meeting is currently underway this Friday 11/12/2020.

As part of this agreement, Mediapro would pay €100m in compensation to the French League in exchange for a guarantee from the latter to not to take further legal action against the former, reported the French media outlet Le Parisien on 11/12/2020. This settlement would be paid in two stages, with a first payment of €64m and a second payment of €36m. 

Canal+ and beIN Sports France would have sent messages internally to their teams to ask them  to "be ready" concerning domestic rights to Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT, according to the RMC Sport site.
