AS Roma: a turnover of €141.2m (-39.3%) and net loss of €204m in 2019-20

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) have posted a turnover of €141.2m (excluding capital gains from player transfers) for the 2019-20 financial year (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), down 39.3% versus the 2018-19 financial year (€232.8m), according to the annual financial statements approved at the club's general shareholders' meeting on 09/12/2020.

All of the Roman club's sources of revenue are down, starting with matchday revenue (-60%, or €26.2m versus €66.3m in 2018-19), sponsorship (-28%, or €17.4m compared with €24.2m, mainly due to the end of the contract with sports betting operator Betway) and TV rights (-28%, or €80.3m versus €111.9m). TV rights revenues were actually stable but part of the payments (including around €20m for Serie A rights) were made after the end of the financial year as the Italian championship only ended on 02/08/2020 and the club played its last Europa League match on 06/08/2020.
