Death of Gérard Houllier (1947-2020)

Gérard Houllier has died at the age of 73, a few days after undergoing a new aortic operation, on Monday 14/12/2020.

Houllier was in charge of the French national team from 1992 to 1993 after having been Michel Platini's assistant, and coached RC Lens (1982-1985), Paris Saint-Germain (1985-1988), Liverpool FC (1998-2004) and Olympique Lyonnais (2005-2007). He was also the French national technical director from 1990 to 1998.

"The FFF would like to express its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Gérard Houllier," wrote the French Football Federation on Twitter.

Gérard Houllier was the ambassador for the first two editions of the "Think Football" annual conference event organised by News Tank Football, on 10/01/2017 and 01/02/2018. News Tank Football offers its deepest condolences to his family and friends.
