Mediapro: "Vincent Labrune and the clubs will find solutions to bounce back" (D. Quillot, ex-LFP)

"I am sure that Vincent Labrune (president of the LFP since 10/09/2020) and the clubs will find economic solutions to bounce back," stated Didier Quillot, former CEO of the LFP (2016-2020), to the French media L'Équipe on 12/12/2020, about the premature end -- end of broadcasting at the latest on 31/01/2021 -- of the Téléfoot channel in France, launched by Mediapro on 21/08/2020 to broadcast in particular Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT for the 2020-2024 cycle.

The Chinese-Spanish group Mediapro, which has not paid the second and third installments of the contract with the French Professional Football League (€172.3m on 05/10/2020, then €152.5m on 05/12/2020), should pay the League a settlement of €100m: €64m as soon as the agreement is validated, then €36m before 30/06/2021. In exchange, the LFP waives any further legal action against the audiovisual group. This agreement must be validated by the commerical court of Nanterre (Greater Paris). A final court resolution is expected between 18 and 21/12/2020.
