Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover (excluding capital gains on player transfers) of €96.7m for the 2020 financial year (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), down 19.5% compared with the previous financial year (€115.4m), announced the Basque club 10/12/2020.

"The 2019-20 financial year has been marked since March by the effects of the health pandemic, with consequences that will persist throughout the 2020-21 financial year. The impact of Covid-19 has meant a 19.5% reduction in revenue (-€21.96m), which, once the costs directly associated with this income (1.1m) have been deducted, means an impact of -€20.85m on the final results. In order to mitigate the impact of the loss of revenues, the club has carried out an active policy of securing commercial revenues and a maximum control of expenses," said Athletic Bilbao.

In addition, the Basque club's executive committee has approved a provisional 2020-21 budget of €97m, a very slight increase (0.3%) compared with 2019-20 revenues, estimating that Covid-19 would have a negative impact of €15.4m on current year revenues…
