Everton FC: stable turnover of £185.9m and record net loss of £139.8m in 2019-20

Everton FC (Premier League) has posted a turnover of £185.9m (€203.7m on 30/06/2020) for the 2020 financial year (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), a very slight decrease (less than 1%) compared with 2019 (£187.7m/€209.3m), announced the club on 11/12/2020.

Everton's main source of revenue, TV rights (£98m/€107.4m) are down (-26.1%) for two reasons related to the Covid-19 crisis. The English league ended after the end of the financial year and part of the amounts were paid out for the 2020-21 financial year. In addition, the broadcasters negotiated a global rebate with the Premier League on the amount of rights to be paid.

However, this reduction in TV rights was offset by the club's record level of sponsorship, advertising and merchandising revenue to date: £63.7m (€69.8m, +119.1%). This increase was mainly driven by the option taken by USM Holdings (Russian steel group) on the naming rights for the club's future stadium at the Bramley-Moore Dock area in Liverpool (ENG). An agreement that has enabled the club to receive £30m (€33m).
