Tennis: 2021 ATP calendar revised with the Australian Open postponed from 08 to 21/02/2021

The Australian Open, scheduled from 18 to 31/01/2021 at Melbourne Park in Melbourne (AUS), has been postponed until the period from 08 to 21/02/2021, according to the ATP, which unveiled a revised schedule for 2021 on 16/12/2020.

Qualification for the first Grand Slam tournament of the season will take place in Doha, Qatar from 10 to 13/01/2021, before the players leave for Australia from 15 to 17/01/2021 in order to complete a quarantine. The Australian Open is "likely" to be postponed for one or two weeks, said Martin Pakula, Minister of Sport Tourism and Major Events for the state of Victoria (AUS), on 25/11/2020.

The 2021 calendar (see details of the first seven weeks below) will begin with the ATP 250 tournaments in Delray Beach (USA) and Antalya (Turkey) from 05/01/2021. In addition to the Australian Open, the start of the Australian season retains the ATP Cup (competition between nations) as well as two ATP 250s also played in Melbourne which replace the tournaments in Adelaide (AUS) and Auckland (NZL).
