France: L'Équipe free-TV channel posts best average audience in 2020, audience share at 1.3%

With 123,000 viewers on average, the channel L'Équipe recorded its best average audience (123,000 viewers) in 2020, up 10% compared to 2019, announces the only free sports TV channel in France, on 04/01/2021.

The annual audience share is 1.3% and for the first time it is decreasing (1.4% in 2019). The channel was notably impacted by the absence of sports competitions in spring 2020 during the first Covid-19 lockdown (see details of monthly audience shares below).

Three shows of the Amaury Groupe's channel recorded their best audiences in 2020:
• L'Equipe d'Estelle, hosted by Estelle Denis: 260,000 viewers on average.
• L'Équipe du Soir, hosted by Olivier Ménard: 245,000 viewers on average (Monday-Friday).
• La Grande Soirée, presented by Messaoud Benterki: 225,000 viewers on average over the year.
