Chelsea FC: a turnover of £407.4m (-8.8%) and net profit of £32.5m in 2019-20

Chelsea FC (Premier League) posted a turnover of £407.4m (€443.5m on 30/06/2020) for the financial year 2020 (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), down 8.8% compared with 2019 (£446.7m/€498.2m), according to the English club on 31/12/2020.

"Despite the fall in revenue, the Group recorded a profit of £32.5m (€35.6m) for the year ended 30/06/2020, reflecting the club's qualification to the Champions League and profits made on a number of player sales," said Chelsea FC, which posted a net loss of £96.6m (€107.8m) at the end of the 2019 financial year.

"Broadcasting and matchday revenues decreased by £17.6m (€19.3m) and £12.2m (€13.4m) respectively, primarily as a result of the suspension of the 2019-20 season in March 2020. Revenue from commercial activities fell by £9.5m (€10.4m), driven by the effects of the closure of non-match day activities in March 2020, as well as decreased pre-season revenue and a decrease in player loan fee income. This was offset by a net increase in sponsorship revenue from new and existing partner renewals," added the London club.
