The OTT sports platform DAZN has posted a turnover of $878m (€715m) for 2019 (up 76% compared to 2018) and a net loss of $1.4bn (€1.14bn) in the same year, according to the website SportBusiness, on 04/01/2021.

The British company's advertising revenues exceeded the $100m (€81m) mark for the first time and the platform had nearly 8 million subscribers worldwide at the end of 2019.

These financial results were registered before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced DAZN to dispose of several broadcasting contracts, mainly in Brazil (Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Serie A TIM in particular). The British group also accepted an offer from Integrated Media Company (IMC), a company created by the American private equity fund TPG, to sell the majority of its shares in the sports information sites Goal.com (present in more than 50 countries), Spox (Germany) and VoetbalZone (Netherlands), in a transaction estimated at $100m (€81m), on 22/09/2020.
