Ligue 1 Uber Eats: PSG - AS Saint-Étienne, second top fixture to be scheduled at 13:00 (18/04/2021)

"As part of the international promotion of Ligue 1 Uber Eats, the Paris Saint-Germain - AS Saint-Étienne fixture on Matchday 33 of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats will take place on Sunday 18/04/2021 at 13:00 (CET). This early afternoon programming of a top Ligue 1 Uber Eats fixture will notably ensure prime time broadcasting in Asia, where the French championship enjoys wide exposure and growing interest," announced the LFP on 07/01/2021.

For the 2020-2024 cycle, the LFP is adding a time slot on Sunday at 13:00 each matchday to increase its exposure in the Asian market. The League has the possibility of scheduling two first choice matches per season in this slot according to the call for tenders issued in May 2018.

In the first half of the 2020-21 season, the OGC Nice - Paris Saint-Germain match (0-3, co-broadcast by Canal+ and Téléfoot in France on Sunday 20/09/2020) was chosen by the League. This fixture was also the first to be exceptionally scheduled at 13:00 on Sunday 18/03/2018. The match was watched by 1.6 million viewers in China (see related article).
