Qatar 2022: FIFA executive committee will let ethics committee finish its work before commenting

"Regarding media allegations of unethical behaviour related to the vote for the 2022 World Cup host country, the [FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association)] executive committee reaffirmed its position of letting the ethics committee complete its work before making any comment," FIFA said in a statement after the executive committee met in Sao Paulo (BRA) on 07/06/2014.

The investigation into the awarding of the World Cups in 2018 to Russia and in 2022 to Qatar is due to wrap up on 09/06/2014, according to the FIFA ethics committee's investigatory chamber, which in charge of investigations, on 02/06/2014.

Michael Garcia (USA), the president the investigatory chamber is to then submit his report to the ethics commission's adjudicatory chamber "about six weeks" after that (or around 20/07/2014 , that is to say, after the World Cup in Brazil, which ends on 13/07/2014), according to the investigatory chamber.
