AFC Ajax: Ziggo extends as main shirt sponsor until 2022-23 for the same amount (€9m/year)

Ziggo, a Dutch cable TV and telecommunications service, has extended as the main shirt sponsor AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) for an additional season until the end of 2022-23, announced the Netherlands club on 07/01/2021.

"No adjustments have been made to other conditions of the agreement," said Ajax, while the annual value of the contract (excluding bonuses) is estimated at €9m. "Our main sponsor's support during such a difficult period is admirable," said Menno Geelen, commercial director of the Amsterdam-based club.

This new agreement includes an option to extend the agreement for a further two additional seasons, 2023-24 and 2024-25. Ziggo also remains the main shirt sponsor of AFC Ajax eSports (2017-2023). "In the coming years, this partnership between Ajax and Ziggo will focus on offering exclusive Ajax content on Ziggo Sport, as well as unique access to the club for both Ziggo and Vodafone customers (both being part of the telecom group VodafoneZiggo)," said the club.
