TikTok: number of followers of the 65 European Top 5 clubs with an official account (January 2021)

With 6.6 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most popular European club on the Chinese social network TikTok, ahead of Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, 4.2 million) and Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 3.9 million), according to data recorded by News Tank Football on 01/01/2021.

Manchester United FC (Premier League), which launched its official account on TikTok on 30/10/2020, posted the best growth in absolute value during the month of December with an additional 366,500 followers.

The English club also posted the third best percentage growth, over the period (excluding accounts with less than 10,000 followers) with a 44% increase in its number of followers. This percentage growth was only surpassed by RB Leipzig (Bundesliga, +47.8%) and Dijon FCO (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, +115.1%).

65 of the 98 clubs in the European Top 5 have an official account on TikTok:
• 20/20 (100%) in LaLiga Santander
• 13/20 (65%) in the Premier League
• 12/18 (66.6%) in the Bundesliga
• 11/20 (55%) in Serie A TIM
• 9/20 (45%) in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.
