Ligue 1 Uber Eats: "If we don't reduce expenses, there will be no miracle" (J-P Caillot, Reims)

"My reality, from now on, is that French clubs can pay their players until the end of June. But if we don't reduce expense, there will be no miracle. On the one hand, there will be clubs with powerful shareholders who will have the cash flow, then on the other hand, 60% to 70% of the clubs who won't have the capacity. This is not a management problem," explained Jean-Pierre Caillot, president of Stade de Reims (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) and of the Collège de Ligue 1 (a body that brings together the 20 presidents of French first division clubs), to the French newspaper Le Monde on 12/01/2021.

Jean-Pierre Caillot is taking part, along with four other club presidents from Ligue 1 (Jean-Michel Aulas / Olympique Lyonnais; Marc Keller / RC Strasbourg Alsace; Loïc Féry / FC Lorient) and Ligue 2 (Christian Leca / AC Ajaccio), in a crisis meeting with the two co-presidents of the UNFP, Philippe Piat and Sylvain Kastendeuch, at the headquarters of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (Paris, FRA), on Tuesday 12/01/2021 (14:00 CET).
