Formula 1: Australian + Chinese Grand Prix postponed, 2021 season to begin in Bahrain on 28/03/2021

The 2021 Australian Grand Prix, originally scheduled to open the season from 18 to 21/03/2021, has been postponed "due to ongoing travel restrictions" related to the Covid-19 pandemic until the weekend of 18 to 21/11/2021, announced Formula One Group on 12/01/2021.

The 2021 season will therefore open with the Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir from 26 to 28/03/2021, a circuit that hosted two rounds of the F1 World Championship in 2020.

For the same reasons, the Chinese Grand Prix has also been postponed: "Discussions with the promoter and authorities in China are ongoing, with the potential to reschedule the race later in the season if possible," said Formula One Group. The race in China will be replaced by the Imola Grand Prix (ITA), a circuit that had previously reinforced the 2020 calendar, which was hit by cancellations and postponements due to Covid-19. The Australian and Chinese GPs were cancelled for the 2020 season.
