esports: LFP presents the 2021 eLigue 1 and a new tournament for amateurs, the eLigue 1 Open

The Ligue de Football Professionnel has presented the 2021 edition of the eLigue 1, the LFP's esports competition, and has launched a new tournament for amateurs, the eLigue 1 Open, on 14/01/2021. Both competitions are played on the FIFA 21 game published by EA Sports, a partner of the eLigue since its launch in 2016.

"The eLigue 1 has been the official French championship on FIFA since 2016. For this 5^th season, its format is evolving to best meet the sporting challenges of Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs and French professional and semi-professional players," explained the LFP. The eLigue will run from April to June 2021 and offers a cash prize of €40,000.

"The eLigue 1 Open is the new competition aimed at supporters of Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs. Open to all amateur players aged at least 16 years old living in mainland France, the eLigue 1 Open offers the opportunity to defend the colours of your favourite club on PS4 or Xbox One, in an attempt to win prizes and unique experiences linked to your favourite club.
