Italy's Filippo Inzaghi has been appointed manager of AC Milan (Serie A) for two years, the club announced on 09/06/2014. He will succeed Dutch Clarence Seedorf, who had been manager since 16/01/2014, and had himself replaced Massimiliano Allegri, dismissed for lack of results. Seedorf thus far remains an employee of the club, for lack of an agreement with AC Milan.

Filippo Inzaghi, 40, had led the Primavera team (under 21) of the Milan club since June 2013. The former Italian international striker (57 caps, 24 goals) played 11 seasons with AC Milan, from 2001 to 2012.

His annual salary is estimated at €700,000.

AC Milan finished in 8th place in Serie A and failed to qualify for a European competition for the 2014-15 season, for the first time since the 1997-98 season.
