Africa: candidatures for the position of CAF president submitted to the FIFA Review Committee

"The Governance Committee of CAF shall submit, to the FIFA Review Committee which will perform the eligibility check of the candidatures received for the position of CAF president, considering that CAF president is ex officio FIFA vice-president," announced the African Confederation at the end of its executive committee meeting, in Yaoundé (CAM) on 15/01/2021.

The executive committee met in the presence of Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA and a special guest of CAF at the 2020 Total African Nations Championship (a competition that brings together 16 countries, reserved for players playing in African national championships and held in Yaounde, Douala and Limbe from 16/01 to 07/02/2021).

Augustin Emmanuel Senghor (Senegal) and Jacques Bernard Daniel Anouma (Ivory Coast) are - among the five registered candidates - the two candidates already approved to stand for election as CAF president at the 43^rd elective ordinary general assembly to be held in Rabat (Morocco) on 12/03/2021, after review of their bids by the Governance Committee on 05 and 06/01/2021.
