Serie A: Erick Thohir now majority shareholder of Inter; has been president since 15/11/2013

Erick Thohir completed an acquisition of a majority stake in Inter Milan for approximately €200m, the Italian media reported on 05/06/2014. The Indonesian businessman has been the club's president since 15/11/2013, and is now the majority shareholder as well with a 70% stake.

A five-year agreement concluded with several banks, including Goldman Sachs, helped provide funds, which will be used to pay part (€80m) of the club's debts.

According to Italian media, the Inter president will visit Singapore, Hong Hong and China to raise an additional €30m - €40m to finance the development of the club and in anticipation of the transfer market, which will start on 01/07/2014 in Italy.
