Football: 23 clubs reach an agreement with Epic Games to display their kits in Fortnite

Epic Games, an American video game publisher, has signed licensing agreements with 23 football clubs around the world so that they can offer their shirts as "skins" on the video game Fortnite, announced the clubs on 19/01/2021. These agreements were negotiated by IMG.

These skins, up to 10 different shirts for each club, will be available within the Fortnite game from 23/01/2021. The clubs are therefore giving themselves a valuable exposure to the 350 million players registered on the free-to-play game available on consoles, PCs and mobile phones (last figures released in May 2020).

Manchester City FC (Premier League) and AC Milan (Serie A TIM) are offering events within the Fortnite game itself for a chance to win their various outfits. Manchester City, for example, are offering an esports competition, the FaZe City Cup, in partnership with the team FaZe Clan (USA).

Epic Games has also created a new celebration within the game dedicated to former Brazilian footballer Pelé, which players will be able to try and win so that they can use it in-game from 20/01/2021.
