Tennis: Davis Cup finals played to be played in three European cities including Madrid (ESP)

The board of directors of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has approved a change from an 18 to 16-team Davis Cup from 2022 and the holding of the event in three European cities, including Madrid (ESP) for the 2021 edition, announced the body on 18/01/2021.

The finals of the 2021 edition will be held over 11 days, from 25/11 to 05/12/2021. The final phase of the 2020 Davis Cup by Rakuten, which was scheduled to take place in Madrid from 23 to 29/11/2020, has been postponed until the week of 22/11/2021, according to Kosmos Tennis and the ITF, the organisers of the competition on 26/06/2020. "The 18 teams taking part in the second edition of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals 2021 have already been drawn into six groups of three teams (see below)."
